The Grand Prix System explained: Prize winners will receive Grand Prix points according to their ranking in the Tournament. The number of Grand Prix points is mentioned in the Prospectus of the corresponding event. The ICA Blitz Chess Marathon awards you with twice the number of Grand Prix Points which you would earn in the other four events of Festival Caissa. Any player scoring 400 Grand Prix Points in Festival Caissa will be awarded a bonus Rs 1 lac. We have 100 Grand Prix Points in all the FIDE Rating Events of Festival Caissa for the Winner, Best Unrated Player, Best Below 1900 Rated Player, Best Below 1600 Rated Player, Best female player and Best Veteran as well.
The top 40 players with the highest Grand Prix points accumulated across the four FIDE-rated Festival events (and the Blitz Marathon) will qualify for the Grand Prix Finals โ a 7-round Swiss Blitz tournament with a time control of 3 minutes plus a 2-second increment. The Finals will be held on January 26, 2026, at 6:45 PM. The total prize fund for the Grand Prix Finals is Rs 1 lac. Prizes are: Rs 30,000 (1st place), Rs 25,000 (2nd place), Rs 20,000 (3rd place), Rs 15,000 (4th place) and Rs 10,000 (5th place).
